TJF Updates

Cheers for Team Julian!

I promised to use this TJF site as a place to post updates, news and fundraising opportunities for you. Despite best intentions, my time and attention has been consumed with daily tasks of managing Julian’s care. And you know those people who have a hard time handing tasks off because they think they can do it all? I’m totally guilty.

But talking with so many of you, and witnessing so many amazing efforts out there on our behalf, it’s time I start spreading the word and putting this space to good use.

There have been so many selfless and generous acts of kindness by individuals and families that have found unique ways to support Julian’s fight. I’ve been so moved, so touched by these efforts – many by perfect strangers who have come to know and care about Julian and our family through the CarePage updates. It’s just astounding how fortunate we’ve been to witness first-hand the genuine kindness of others. It fills our hearts with such warmth and gratitude.

From everyone who loves Julian, Thank you!

My name is Margie and I work in the same school district as Sue Fouts, who shared this story with me.

I have a little girl who also battled a brain tumor, starting when she was 3 years old. She is now 10.

Kimmie was first diagnosed at the age of 3 with a spinal tumor. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor and we were told that they “got it”. Less than a year later, it reappeared as a brain tumor. She underwent 6 weeks of radiation therapy at Stanford and then 1 year of chemotherapy through Duluth Clinic. She has now been in remission for 5 years.

I am thrilled to hear that Julian is at St. Jude’s. The protocol developed at St. Jude was the course of treatment delivered to my little girl throught the pediatric cancer center in Duluth MN. I’m convinced that’s the reason she has done so well with her treatment, and continues to do well with all of her follow-up care.

Hang in there–it’s a long road, but worth it!
